Popcorn Maker

Popcorn Maker Machines Popcorn Maker Machines

Popcorn was first discovered thousands of years ago by cavemen. In 1948 and 1950, anthropologists found ears of corn, which were evidence that popcorn was made thousands of years ago in Bat Cave, New Mexico. Before there were popcorn maker machines, Indians made popcorn by heating sand in a pan and then putting kernels into the heated sand.Popcorn Maker Cart Hundreds of years later, Charles Cretors was the first person to invent the mobile popcorn machine, which is also known as the popcorn maker cart in 1893 in Chicago, Illinois. This made it easy for people to sell popcorn on the streets and in amusement parks, which spurred the popularity of popcorn.

The first popcorn machine was steam driven which was patented by The Foodservice Equipment division in 1885. This allowed popcorn to be popped in oil, and then later, they had gas-powered popcorn vendors. People started selling popcorn on the streets in front of amusement parks, stores, and theaters to attract people to buy popcorn. People would know popcorn was close by because they recognized the smell of the gas that was used to pop the kernels to produce popcorn. In the 1950s, people went to the cinemas less because televisions arose. During World War II, Percy Spencer from Raytheon Manufacturing found a way to mass produce magnetrons to produce microwaves. With this technology, it gave Spencer the idea to make a microwave oven and he used kernels for his experiments. It allowed people to make popcorn in their own homes in the 1940s using the microwave. In 1967, The Food Processing Systems division patented the hot air fluidized bed oven to produce high amounts of popcorn.

(Why Buy a Popcorn Machine Maker?)

Old Fashioned Popcorn MakerToday, people are purchasing old fashioned popcorn makers to make delicious popcorn for social events or for one's own pleasure at the comfort of one's home. People want to buy popcorn machines because they may need to make more than making a few bags of microwave popcorn. Having a popcorn machine would be fun for family and friends to spend some quality time. Commercial popcorn maker machines are still being used today in theaters and amusement parks. There are many types of popcorn makers and many different brands. Today, popcorn machines run on gas or electricity. People usually buy a red popcorn machine because it gives an old-fashioned and antique look to the first ones that were made in the late 1890s and 1900s. Popcorn machines have a big range of prices because of the amount of popcorn the machine can produce and if they have a cart. Popcorn machines can hold two ounces, four ounces, 6ounces, 8ounces, etc of kernels in the popper.

Popularity of Popcorn Machine Makers

Antique Popcorn MakerPopcorn and popcorn maker machines have become so popular that there is a museum of popcorn. The museum of popcorn is called Wyandot Popcorn Museum, which has many restored antique popcorn machines made in the late 1890s and 1900s. This museum is located in Marion, Ohio, which opened in September of 1982. This is the only popcorn museum and was founded by W. Hoover Brown.
